About Us

Beneath those layers of logic,
She heard ‘the little something’ from within.
A quiet space lays untouched and unexplored.
Where eyes can’t see, what the heart showed.
She stopped seeking and stepped away,
Forgetting the directions, she started to sway.
Unplanned destinations marked her way.

One step closer to amend,
She has gone Akihi, the beginning of no end…

About the Brand

The label AKIHI by Srishti Arora mixes two worlds, two different realms of workmanship. We take Zardozi, a 300-years-old artistry of hand-embroidery and combine it with modern and traditional metal techniques to make something totally unique and substantial. This fusion of tradition with modernity, the reimagining of zardozi for today’s world, is our driving force.

The development is meticulous as each piece passes through several craftsmen, who work at it patiently, to ensure that the delicacy remains intact. What emerges is not just an accessory, but a tangible testimony of our craft heritage, repurposed in a timeless fashion.

About the Founder

Meet Srishti Arora, the imaginative heart and creative mastermind behind Akihi. With a background in Textile Design from Pearl Academy in the vibrant Pink City of Jaipur, Srishti is no stranger to the wonders of the Indian textile industry. She's lent her creative vision to renowned brands like Crate and Barrel, Westelm, CB2, Fabindia, Anantaya, India Circus, and many more, as both a designer and a merchandiser.

Srishti's creative spirit was nurtured by her birthplace, Jaipur, a city that has fueled her passion for hand-embroidery and design. The city's rich artistic traditions and crafts have continually inspired her, sparking her imagination at every turn. Whether it's touching and feeling the materials, exploring new techniques, or preserving age-old wisdom, Srishti's admiration for Jaipur is evident in her work.

‘’Akihi blossomed from my deep affection for Jaipur and its intricate zardozi craft, an embroidery technique that elegantly weaves metallic coil threads into stunning patterns. This art form is woven into the fabric of my culture and has been a centerpiece of our celebrations since my childhood. Its elegance, beauty, and textured adornments have always captured my imagination. The secrets of zardozi were passed down to me by the skillful artisans who have preserved this art form for generations. I felt a strong desire to share this unique craft with the world in a fresh and inventive way. My vision was to merge metal and textile into timeless jewelry pieces that would be a reflection of my personal style and make the wearer feel special and unique.

Months of relentless hard work and unwavering dedication went into realizing this vision. But I never let go of my intuition, my Akihi. In 2017, I finally brought to life my brand, my dream, my expression.

In 2023, I embarked on a new journey with my family to Ontario, Canada. This marked a fresh chapter in my life and a new adventure for Akihi. I eagerly look forward to exploring new frontiers and taking Akihi to greater heights. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to share my vision and passion with you. I hope wearing our jewelry brings you as much joy as we experience crafting them for you.’’
